A company that helps us discover what we really want to do

Tell us about the background to your work with SSS.

We wanted to use AI to create the "capacity" to take on new challenges.

Mizutani: As a company, there is a movement to keep taking on new things. But to do that, we need to make routine tasks and information organization more efficient and free up capacity so that our designers can focus on their real design work and new development. With that aim, we took the step of adopting generative AI. The basic idea is "leave what can be left to AI to AI, and let designers concentrate on the work only designers can do." We are starting by streamlining routine tasks so that designers can spend their time on more essential work.

Among the many possible partners, why did you choose SSS?

They helped us organize and give shape to "what we really wanted to do."

Mizutani: We had previously considered customizing a packaged AI service. At the same time, we were searching for an approach that could adapt more flexibly to the work we wanted to realize. SSS first listened carefully to what we wanted to do, and then made proposals on that basis. As we talked, what we wanted to do became clear. I feel they are a very flexible company.

Once the project actually started, what kind of results did you see?

With SSS's expertise added, we were able to turn the concept into reality.

Mizutani: They actually built a system for extracting differences between specifications and an app for extracting key points. By bringing in SSS's expertise and technology, we were able to turn these into working mechanisms. The mechanisms and deliverables are now complete, and we are at the stage of preparing the environment to use them in actual work. What matters next is getting the environment ready so they can be used in day-to-day operations. We would like to build on this and expand to using AI for time-consuming tasks within the department, such as creating design drawings and specifications. If we can achieve that, I believe we can significantly reduce the workload in our section too. Of course, AI will not create everything for us, but we want to push forward at least to the point where it makes things easier for the members around us.

How do you feel about SSS's approach and team?

A company with a high level of professionalism and a shared direction across the whole organization.

Mizutani: I feel their attitude toward work is very high. Their schedule management and the organization and clarity of their documents are solid as well. And at SSS, the company vision (GOOD PEOPLE GOOD BUSINESS) is shared across the whole team, and they follow through on it. The direction is aligned across the entire company, and there is a sense of unity. That is something I find very good.

How would you like to expand the use of AI going forward?

We want to create a culture in which "using AI is the norm."

Mizutani: We want to increase the number of tasks in the engineering department where AI can be used effectively, and create a state where it is used naturally in everyday work. We want each person to think about how AI fits their own work and use it proactively, but that is not easy alongside daily duties. That is exactly why we want to first advance adoption within the engineering department and share the results and knowledge with the rest of the company. In the future, we hope to expand the possibilities by collaborating with other departments as well.

Finally, do you have a message for the SSS team?

We are still only halfway. A partner we want to keep running with.

Mizutani: As the way we work itself changes, I think the key is how well we can keep up with it. Our work with SSS still has a long way to go and is not yet complete. That is exactly why we would appreciate your continued support. We look forward to continuing to move forward together.
