ABOUTNakanishi Metal Works is a long-established company that boasts high technical capability, a strong production system, and international price competitiveness in parts manufacturing and steel processing, while also having a venture-like corporate culture.

A reliable partner we can always consult.

Tell us how you met SSS.

They seemed like a savior arriving just when we needed one.

Mitsukawa: Our president handed down a mission to "take on the challenge of developing and selling software around new technologies and values such as blockchain," and the new project that emerged was "Hacologi." Everyone in the department, myself included, was a complete novice when it came to software, so we were at a loss with this sudden "homework." That is when SSS was introduced to us through our president. They seemed like a savior arriving just when we needed one. From the start they were attentive and created an atmosphere that was easy to open up in, and as we talked through this and that, the project got under way without any stress. That is my impression.

What role did SSS play in "Hacologi"?

They supported the upstream work.

Mitsukawa: We asked them to handle work across every area, from the conception of "Hacologi" through development to maintaining operations after the service launched.
At the start we were practically working from a blank sheet, so we focused on creating and fleshing out the service concept, while SSS put their efforts into the project plan to realize it. The plan incorporated engineer training, establishing an operations structure after development, and even a long-term outlook. Having them support the upstream process of launching the business was, I think, a gift of the potential unique to SSS, with its strength in business creation consulting.

Was the distance between Osaka and Tokyo an obstacle?

Both the meetings and the project went smoothly.

Mitsukawa: On top of the physical distance, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic, so our dialogue was mostly remote, but there was a great deal of conversation, and thanks to that our meetings were always lively. SSS took the lead in running the meetings, and I was grateful not only for how clearly they organized the issues at each stage, but also for the consideration they showed, such as laying out options for us to choose from when we were unsure. Thanks to that, we could concentrate on creative activities such as generating ideas. Even when some problem arose and the project paused, the collaboration worked: SSS picked up the solutions we proposed and quickly reflected them in development, and the work stayed on schedule.

How were the results?

Their project management and PR capabilities paid off.

Mitsukawa: The system was completed within the planned period, and we were able to bring it to the point where it could generate "sales" as a business. Getting through an enormous "to do" list on schedule in just two years was largely thanks to SSS's project management capability.
After completion, they also demonstrated their strength in PR activities such as producing sales materials, landing pages, and videos. They proposed applying for awards as well, and we won several major awards, including gold in two categories of the "IT World Awards."
Today, "Hacologi" is attracting inquiries from large companies, and we have entered a phase of adjusting its direction and improving the system while gathering customer needs. SSS will not get a moment's rest from here on either (laughs).

What kind of company is SSS?

The first partner that comes to mind whenever something comes up.

Mitsukawa: They are a reliable partner we can always consult. Partly because my own specialty is hardware, whenever an idea about software comes to mind or something catches my attention, SSS is the first company I think of: "Let's ask SSS what they think." Building a relationship where we can "casually consult" a company with SSS's consulting capability is, I gratefully feel, the fruit of three years of working together. What is more, the SSS members have a wide range of conversation, and even ordinary small talk is full of valuable insights, so I am always learning from them. I feel that "trust in SSS" is built from such small things as well.
